WAVE PROPHECY 1
A sneaker that, for fifteen consecutive years, came to represent the footwear of an entire aesthetic and era. When funk emerged in the city of São Paulo, developing its own visual identity and cultural language, the Wave Prophecy 1 became a landmark—not only for São Paulo, but for Brazil as a whole.
As this was a global campaign, it was essential to balance the sneaker's roots with the international perspective the project needed to achieve: telling a story deeply rooted in Brazil without losing the impact of a worldwide launch. The first step was to reconnect with the symbols, codes, and people who kept the Wave Prophecy 1 alive for fifteen years—individuals who, in their own ways, preserved its legacy and cult status even outside the spotlight of major marketing campaigns.
We then brought together three central figures to tell this story with authenticity.
Eduardo (Mizuneira) represents restoration—the person responsible for preserving the product over the years, serving as the technical and emotional guardian of every pair that passed through his hands, keeping the original Wave Prophecy 1 alive as time took its toll.
Bernini represents discovery and resale. A key figure within São Paulo's sneaker community, he helped the Wave Prophecy 1 continue to circulate, be rediscovered, and retain its value long after its original release.
Fezinho represents art and dance, embodying one of São Paulo's most iconic street dance styles. Present since the era of the sneaker's original launch, he connects the Wave Prophecy 1 to the cultural movement that established its legacy on the streets.
Together, they form a kind of trinity of preservation: restoration, marketplace, and culture—three complementary forces that tell not only the story of a sneaker, but of a symbol that has transcended generations, remaining relevant because it continues to reflect the identity of those who wear it.
